Start from the hardware and work upwards, ie:
1: Ensure case is clear of excess dust and cooling fans connected are working as expected (fans can and will fail over time), any heatsinks/coolers are attached properly and not loose
2: Monitor the CPU, GPU and other case/system temperatures at idle there are many tools for this (hwmonitor, open hardware monitor, speedfan etc)
3: Run a memory test, also many tools for this Windows Memory Diagnostic (built into Windows), memtest64, memtests86 etc
4: While monitoring temps stress test the CPU/Memory with something like prime95 toture test or other benchmarking software
5: While monitoring temps stress test the GPU with something like furmark or other benchmarking software
6: While monitoring temps run both CPU stress and GPU stress at the same time
#3 should identify faulty memory, #4-6 will help you figure out if it's overheating/insufficient cooling overall or CPU vs GPU specific
If it's not cooling related it's probably flaky part or software, if you suspect a particular part you can rule our flaky parts by trying them in another PC (easier to do for GPU harder for CPU)
etc
you really need to check temperatures.
I had a friend whose PC was crashing and having boot issues.
Ended up being two issues.
1) the SSD holding his O/S was on the way out, software said it was healthy but it was an old Samsung 980 sata SSD and I think they had firmware issues.
2) issue was the CPU overheating, CPU temp spiking above 95 degrees running youtube.
I put new thermal paste on the CPU.
The old paste had dried out pretty badly and was a bit flakey and putty-like.
Another issue was that the plastic cover was still on the CPU cooler.... so that was an issue.
This machine had been running for years and was ex-lease from a software business.
Recommend checking CPU temps, I used Speccy, however, the PC might be more than one issue too.
When it rains, it can pour.
Temps all look fine..... maybe grab the latest video drivers from Nvidia, then grab DDU and run it.... Display Driver Uninstaller (DDU) download latest version 18.0.8.5 | Wagnardsoft
This will flush out all video drivers for a clean start for your video card. Once its done, then install the new Nvidia drivers and see how it goes.
Also maybe run something like CCleaner/BitBleach to clear out temp/junk files. Be careful tho, as they can flush out saved passwords etc from your browser which you may not have saved anywhere :)

Temps all look fine.....
yea at idle which is where they were taken, haven't seen them under load yet.
@Twalknz72 with HWinfo download the portibile one, its just an .EXE to open/run
Then when open, run up a game, or what ever to put the CPU/GPU under load, It will measure the max/min/average and instantaneous value
Should look something like this
You are looking for
CPU [#0] and its name and,
GPU [#0] and its name
Twalknz72: It's the GPU. Thank you for all your help. Looks like we'll be watching the black Friday sales. Any suggestions for a new GPU would be fantastic.
Good to know the issue, lucky black Friday sales are starting now or soon.
PB-Tech is doing some presales with price protection.
GPU suggestions are possible but further details are required.
