cjs6793968: Halfway through neverwinter nights 2 now, liking the D&D rpg side of it.

Halfway already? You must have a bit more free time than I did Laughing.  Remember - the Mask of the Betrayer expansion release isn't too far off.

Out of interest, what build are you developing? I finished with a L18 Drow Cleric/Warpriest/Divine Champion (L14/L1/L3 off the top of my head).

garvani: Just picked up Shadowrun for X360 yesterday for $65 from the warehouse.. this game rocks!! so under-rated its unbelievable! If you have a 360 (or vista for that matter) pick it up! its worth the rental at least..  For those that dont know its like unreal tournament 2004, but with magic and special abilities..

It looks good, but I really dislike how M$ took a great rpg and turned it into a FPS. Also the fact that it's Vista only is annoying.

Pretty prohibitive system requirements as well...

Oddly, the Windows Game Advisor said I couldn't play this as my system was incompatible, even though I meet these minimum specs.

Wow those are high system requirements Surprised.  I didnt really no anything about the game b4 picking it up so i can't comment on the rpg/fps, but it is a great fps! the magic and tech give it a different spin to your average fps, but it is very similar to ut2004 which isnt a bad thing :-). Theres some bad marketing going on or its non exsistent, this is a great game that no one seems to be playing or even know about, it would almost be a console buyer for me.. anyways i sound like ive been hired by the developers.. moving on Wink

Lugh> L13 Human Druid / L1 Fighter, built like a tank but wastes the shapeshifting. Have many ideas for the next play through.

Current games being played:

Genesis Rising, Farcry, World of Warcraft, CnC3

Just reinstalled CnC3 last ngiht to try some skirmish battles :)
Genesis Rising is like homeworld but more 2d than 3d. It's not bad, has some interesting things and looks shiney :)
Farcry, god one of my favourite FPSs ever. Replaying it through again.
WoW, it's my current MMO :)

NWN2 was great, completed that a while ago, some tough moments, and a couple of things you had to do with players at certain times to unlock other parts. (EG the golem quest line :/) over all i hope an expansion gets made for this soon however :D

@garvani: I couldn't stand Shadowrun, we played it on a lan where it's most redeeming feature was killing friends. Which we could have done in any game. Was uninstalled pretty fast here heh. They also took one of the best game worlds ever and turned it into a third rate game, it could have been SO much more.

Keep an eye out for Mask of the Betrayer (which I think gets released in a coupe of months).  It's an official expansion that follows directly after the core story.  New races and professions too.

I found NWN2 buggy as hell. Was a bit of a let down in that:
- Preformance was lacking. I have a 8800GTX, overclocked and still slowish 1900x1200.
- The level of scripting bugs, I had to reload some sections way back to figure out where things went wrong.
- Felt like you were playing on rails sometimes. RPGs are getting more and more open ended and this is badly needed in NWN. Seriously, maps where you are outdoors yet still feel like you are running up a corridor to get X Y and Z and then run back down?

Overall I loved the game though, same as NWN1 and all the expansions - just they could have make it so much better :(

Still playing Civ4 occasionally and the odd bit of WoW.

I'm lovin "DIRT" at the mo. Totally awesome graphics and lots of fun driving. Feels like a well constructed game.

Just finished Rainbow Six vegas, which was one of the best shooters I've played in a long while.

Azza08, as far as X3 goes, I've played a little of it. Better than X2, but soooooo indepth that I just haven't got a parallel body to devote to playing it. Good combat, great graphics. Huge game.

Fully into the multiplayer Beta release of Call of Duty 4 on 360 at the moment.

Any other Kiwis or Aussies playing it? Would be really keen to get some local players together for a few matches. Its got me more excited about Nov 9 when the full game is released than even Halo 3.

i was really let down by the bugginess of NWN2.. gutted. it would just hang when i went to travel to a different section.

but of late ive been playing some bioshock. and wow. this game is truly impressive. also its pleasingly scalable , i run an athlon64 2800+ 2gb ram and 7600gtx and it runs mint on medium detail. conversely i installed quakewars demo the other day and it runs like a bucket of arse! well to be honest it doesnt run.

but yeah, bioshock is the best game ive played since halflife 2. and thats on medium! i cant wait to see it on a mates grunty machine.

KOTOR 2 also is a bit of a throwback, but its mint!

I have been stuck on WoW for almost a year now.  Soo much time invested in something soo artificial.  Ahh well, cannot complain, made some good friends (4 of which are heading over from Aussy for my mates wedding!).  My mate got me hooked when he gave me his account while he went on his honey moon.  He has invested more than 1.5 years worth of actual play time into the game, me, looking at around 40 days total play time. Wow thats almost a month.

Would like to try a FPS again, seeing as I upped my PC specs not too long ago.  Hey I meet the requirements for Shadowrun!  Woohooo. Maybe try that out.
