ahmad: Dick Smith deal gone?

Yeah, they must've pulled it when the realised how much money that they were loosing. Was probably a mistake in the first place anyway.

Wasn't that much of a deal after factoring in shipping.

nzkiwiman: Need one for my fathers birthday next week, any specials?
(I have $120 credit on my iTunes account due to an error, but I can't seem to give it to my father - I am now Android and will never use it)

Perhaps just 'give' him your account? That way he can spend all the credit and then switch back and keep all he bought?

Else find out what he wants and 'gift' the actual items to him from iTunes Store itself?
I'm thinking of something like the TomTom app that goes for $99ish, or if he's a boatie, iSailor with the NZ maps was a great gift I gave my father in law for his 65th?

Unsure why it would be so but you cannot "Gift an app" using stored credit. You can only buy with your CC.

Forgot about that, guess giving him the account to buy from might be the way then?

Yes that works but if his father is not very savvy technologically it could prove a little annoying if he has to switch back and forth between Apple IDs. It doesn't usually require you to do this just to update Apps but there is potential for it to be annoying.

You are right though - this is pretty much the only available solution.

As part of my Xmas present, I gave Dad some iTunes cards and then thought I should try and use this credit up by setting up an allowance which seems to be the only method to transfer credit from one account to another.
After signing in multiple times, setting everything up the system still would not let me send an allowance.

Looks like I am stuck with $120 worth of credit to use by signing into Dad's Apple TV and purchasing some movies to stream ...

Anyone know of any deals currently going on Itunes Gift Cards.  Searching the internet has proved unsuccessful so far today....

Thought I had heaps and then I got a new iPad and went a bit silly and now want MORE :)

Does anyone happen to know if Playstation Network cards get discounted like iTunes cards do from time to time?
