Sorry I feel like this thread needs a rest, but I have to say the Telecom Ultra $39 plan + spreading the payment out over 24 months fee and interest free is pretty good value compared with some other offerings

i.e. for a 32GB 5S on Voda, $99/month over 24 months + $499 for the handset.
Telecom, $39/month open contract + $50/month over 24 months paying the phone off.

Voda $739 more expensive over 24 months and only difference is you get unlimited minutes vs 300 minutes a month. Good if you use more than 300 minutes but I don't :)

kawaii:
jarledb: It supports:

2 (1900 MHz)
3 (1800 MHz)
5 (850 MHz)
7 (2600 MHz)
8 (900 MHz)
20 (800 DD)
38 (TD 2600)
39 (TD 1900)
40 (TD 2300)

Interesting, I'm surprised Telecom hasn't re-used the 800Mhz frequency they used to use for their old analogue network for their LTE deployment - any reason why they've held off?

Because it's used for 3G. Telecom have only recently finished refarming the spectrum for 3G. Performance on the XT network has gone downhill big time in the past year, and certainly the data performance is terrible. They're not going to want to give up any of this spectrum for other services when it's clearly required to get a decent 3G network.

And they don't have enough spectrum there. Unless you have 20Mhz paired for LTE you really are going to have a crap network.

Improving 3G capacity is still very important because 3G is still required for all legacy services such as voice and sms.

I'm pretty sure as well that the 800Mhz support in the 5s/5c is also for the EU 800Mhz band. This is the old UHF TV band, and doesn't align with the old AMPS band 800Mhz used in NZ (and the US).

I need the iphone 5s for mrs and she currently uses telecom $19 combo and does not need to pay extra $20 a month (which is around $480 in 2 years). So for me is the only option to buy iphone from apple directly for full price. Is there any way I can get the phone with interest free installments

I bought the 16G this way, 24 months interest free.
Oh and telecom threw in a 4G sim for me as they had run out of 3G sims

I'd wait a couple of weeks until the novelty wares off and it id available on prepay then you can get it on the $19 Onebill and pay it of over 24 months..

Surely it can't be that important..

Just noticed tonight that my order from Apple is going to arrive earlier than what they originally estimated. Before it was "November 19-20" and is now listed as " November 14-15". I wonder what caused such a significant shift in dates - not that I'm complaining...

Mine is still showing 19 - 20th of November which is the original date. Maybe they've had a few cancellations of early orders.

My delivery estimate is still 14 - 18 Nov. Curious that it's a 5-day window compared to your 2-day.
