I bought one of the Apple cases for my 5S and from everything I read about it before deciding to get it, no one mentioned how you cannot reach the mute button with your finger and you can only get to it using the nail... :(

Might have to get something else and send this case back. Suggestions?

The same applies to the Tech21 case that I bought but to be honest it doesn't bother me. In fact, the silence switch is so small that I would probably use a fingernail to flip it even without a case.

I'm leaving for Europe on the 18th, my flight is at night. Would you recommend I buy the iPhone off the Apple website or wait for it to be sold in Vodafone outright? I'm scared it won't arrive in time if I order from Apple, the estimated date of delivery is Dec 3, but it seems that most of you have gotten it in 10 days.

I'd try and buy it duty free if I were you!

Grr... certification of accessories.  So I ordered a few additional accessories for my 5S.  A couple of long data cables and an adaptor and a car charger.  But none of them work as they are not "certified"!  I'd (grudgingly) buy genuine Apple if they actually sold what I need, but they don't.  Irritating, and smacks of Microsoft's anti-competitive behaviour a decade ago.

This is what bothers mei keep buying charging cables that don't work.

Do I blame the seller or the Apple?

And in reply to the battery use thing... while browsing facebook last night I lost 1% of charge per minute or so.  Was fully charged at 9am this morning and two hours later I'm down to 90%.  Have used the phone for no more than 5 minutes total during that time.

I don't think so, but will test more rigorously before ruling it out

Check what apps were using "background app refresh"  or location services, - these are known battery crucifiers

Try turning off Background App Refresh (Settings -> General -> Background App Refresh).
Also turn off everything in System Services (Settings -> Privacy -> Location Services -> System Services).

(3 hours of usage, 12 hours of standby, and I'm still on 78%).

Thanks guys, I'd already turned off everything like that except I was still using Bluetooth sometimes, so I will leave that off and see how I go now.  Cheers!

I haven't used it, but I hear/read Facebook is the worst for draining your battery on the iPhone.
