Hi, I appear to have a 1.0.2 FW phone with 4.01.13_G modem firmware - I've gotten this from Settings -> About as Field Test hangs and then returns to Springboard.

This looks like a 1.1.1 phone restored to 1.0.2 - no idea how it was unlocked as I bought it locally already done but I doubt it was IPSF

There is a LOT of guides to upgrading to newer FW, but I'm hoping someone can clarify the process for me.

1. I need to 'virginize' to standard 1.0.2
2. Upgrade to 1.1.1/jailbreak/anySim
3. Upgrade to 1.1.2
4. Jailbreak
5. anySim

I'm running windows so don't have access to nicer tools on OS X like iNdependence.

Rebeltrousers, the Atlas steps don't talk about anySim, so did you use the #307# backdoor at end and run anySim fine? Or unlock via another method?

Cheers,
Tim

Indeed, followed that order and worked a charm - spent no more than a couple of hours going from never hacked/used an iphone before to unlocked 1.1.2.
I hope that 1.1.3 isn't problematic to upgrade to - I hear Apples changed some things which could mean a wait til hackers get it easily on to our phones.

If you plan to go up to 1.1.2 I do no think you need to unlock 1.1.1 with anysim.

When you jailbreak 1.1.1 (jailbreakme.com is the easiest) install BSD Subsystem and oktoprep (very important!) and be sure to shift + click UPGRADE not restore and select 1.1.2.

To unlock 1.1.2 use anysim 1.2.1u.

This is a merged guide with step by step - not explained but ask/google any specific names in here.

Sorry the fonts are all screwed and I have no idea how to change them in here!!

---------------------------

Prepare for upgrade:

1. Launch Installer – need to install 2 apps/utilities.

2. Install BSD Subsystem v1.5

3. Scroll down to Tweaks (1.1.1) and select OktoPrep and install.

Upgrade 1.1.1 to 1.1.2:
1. Connect your phone to iTunes.
2. SHIFT + Update button and point it to the v1.1.2 firmware you downloaded manually.
3. Let it run and complete.

Jailbreak 1.1.2:
Note: You should have a 1.1.2 activate screen talking in tongues.

1. Now run windows.bat from the 1.1.2 jailbreak
2. Check option Install ssh, change password if needed and click Jailbreak
2. Let it complete - Might take like 5-10 mins.

Unlocking using anySIM1.2.1u:
1.
Run Installer and install BSD Subsystem 1.5
2.
Add modmyifone.com/installer.xml to your Installer Sources

3. Install anySIM1.2.1u via the ModMyiFone.com installer category.
4. Go to Settings > Switch ON Airplane mode.
5. Go to Settings > General > Auto-lock change it to Never.
6. Run anySIM
7. After it shows the "Successfully unlocked message". Uninstall anySIM via Installer.
8. Goto Settings > Switch OFF Airplane mode.
