I am looking foward to its NZ release...

If it includes 3G and a decent camera with video calling, I will be buying one immediately.

I have also read speculation of it including GPS.

tonyhughes: I have never seen/held an iPhone in person. Today I used an iPod touch for the first time. The touchscreen just blows away Windows Mobile devices I have used (Palm, HTC, HP etc). Are the iPhones the same size as the iPod touch? Very thin already, thinner and shorter than my Nokia E51, and not too much wider either.

The iPhone will become very attractive to me in 3G guise.

One of the problems my sister said she had with the Iphone was syncing the calendar something like you can't sync it through the cable?
Is that still a problem or have the fixed it?

Does it sync with outlook?

Iphone calendar (and contacts) sync perfectly with outlook via itunes with the cable.  I did nothing except tick the "sync calendar" box in itunes.

She currently has an Ipod Touch the it has been a while since I talked to her about it so she might of sorted it by now.
I really liked playing with it when we traveled Belgium and Italy over christmas and New Years but she is the Apple Fan and will buy the 3G iphone when it is out.
I am waiting to see what telecom bring out and I might consider going for the i phone after I have had a play with hers and tryed out the features.

Not sure yet.  Will probably see what the going price is on Trademe.  $500 or $600 ish?

unfortunately trademes removing every iphone auction because its not officially supported by vodafone yet. (or something along those lines). Your best bet would be
a) Use a different site like zillion or sellmefree
b) make a buy now auction on trademe and hope that someon e buys it before trademe sees it.

You should be able to get 600-700 for it. So far theyr for sale at around 800 and no ones buying. Is yours 8 or 4gb?

You have to be kidding me, I'm all for buyer beware, if it is purely because it is not officially supported by Vodafone all the parallel imported grey handsets should go too.

I imagine it is consumer protection and the PS3 type debate where the risk of non-existent/fake goods and the impact on the trademe marketplace as a whole exceeds the benefits of being able to auction it on trademe.

WTF?  Trademe removing iphone auctions?  That's madness.  It must be Apple asking them to pull the auctions because I can't understand why Trademe would do that. Like you say, if they can't list iphones then they shouldn't be selling all the random non-sanctioned Nokias and other phones.

Mine's a 16GB model.  I'd love it if I could get $700+ for it, but I reckon there'll be a bit of a price crash on the 1st gen iphones once the new ones are out.

You could always sell something useless like a role of toilet paper and throw a free iphone in for being such a good customer.

Gizoogle NemusSync it lets you sync to Google Calendar anywhere you can get on the internet. There is software that allows you to sync your outlook calendar to Google Cal as well! Trifecta of appointments!

Trade Me's decision to allow/disallow iPhone sales has nothing to do with Vodafone... not sure where you got that from.

Cheers

Paul
