RFI there isnt the prettest, but you now have a very nice line..

i suspect something has been fixed.

chances are you might get to a 17a profile too looking at your line, see how it goes..

17a is a faster line profile, thats given to thoses with short lines.

on an 8b profile (which your currently on) the max anyone tends to reach is about 45~55/10 where as 17a is able to go up to 60~70/10.

put simply, you have a chance of getting a decent speed boost at some point.

your holding a DLM-1 DLM profile currently, ild suggest keeping you modem reboots to a minimum to keep that.

not likely, normally when people talk of being on an ADSL capped profile, they will still sync at decent speeds but throughput will be limited.

hio77:

i always understood the filter simply only let the voice portion of the spectrum through?

Yep, it will attenuate the high frequency signals very significantly, but on a short line you may still get a [very poor] sync.

I wonder if there's a loose wire on the back of the DSL jack causing an intermittent connection?
