FireEngine: Please try and not let any frustrations you have spill over onto the staff who post here, every one is giving voluntarily of their time and attention to precisely help customers who come in by this route - but it isn't any part of their day job. I for one appreciate their efforts.

Seconded!  I'll freely admit that I've got a UFB-based issue outstanding with Orcon at the moment; but the Orcon-based staff here have been nothing but helpful when it comes to moving the issue forward.  Sadly whilst we've not been able to resolve my issue yet, we are working constructively towards diagnosing what the underlying issue actually is - and both the Orcon staff on Geekzone and the staff on the support email address and phone-line have all been helpful and we are making good progress in resolving the underlying issue.  I am very appreciative of the Orcon staff here, and the time they spend helping customers like me via this forum.

Thanks Guys!

I'm very appreciative of people who voluntarily help people that have a problem, that's why I came here, I do have a small issue with people filling a thread with pointless comments like you should have done a search etc but I'll cut my rant short to keep on track,

I noticed another app had added it's self to the Virtual Servers with a WAN Interface of ppp1.1 rather than the pppoa0 I thought it should be and have been testing, I deleted my existing web server entry and set one up with ppp1.1 but this didn't fix the issue, I also changed my website to port 121 and opened that on the router but had the same problem, I then turned my firewall off completely on the web server and still no luck. I can however browse the site from another networked machine on both port 121 and 80 with and without the firewall active my only issue is getting to it externally.

here's the ports as they are now, pm me for my fixed ip if you wish to test.

Just out of interest, what have Trustpower said to you, as you are their customer have they verified the static ip product is correctly forwarding all ports etc?

Can you check the firmware version you are on and post it? I'll discuss with T3 tomorrow.

When I called them they advised their team is unable to support port forwarding and directed me to contact Netcomm directly, I did that but they didn't offer much more than the standard instructions which I'd already found and tried.

I'm at work now but I'll post my firmware version tonight when I get home,

Thanks

OK there isn't much more that we (Orcon) can do here, the Trustpower unit may be an NF4V but it runs completely different firmware to ours so we can't troubleshoot the TP/NC firmware based on our knowledge of the Orcon firmware, nor should we.

If Trustpower don't support port forwarding then I'm afraid that leaves you with Netcomm but I'd be surprised if this is a hard failure with the device or either firmware to be honest, we would be burning down with complaints about it and we aren't seeing any outside of here.

Might be worth asking them to temporarily remove your static ip and see if a dynamic ip has the same problem (to rule out the ip pool they use or perhaps a side effect of the static feature.

Sorry but I'm at the end of the line with any assistance we can usefully give on this.

Thanks for your help, do you know if plugging in my old ADSL modem will allow me to connect at the slower speed and test? I just need to check if that can forward the ports ok again.

cheers

Sorry, don't know how Trustpower's network works, might be easiest to try it and see.

I've had some success,

After turning on my PC this afternoon I logged back into the router to see an entry for Teredo which was using the ppp1.1 Wan Interface, I'd previously tested a port using this interface but it failed, this time I decided to delete all my previous entries and try to mimic that one through to my web server and it worked. so if anyone else is having trouble the pppoa0 interface given in the Netcomm documentation is incorrect and should be ppp1.1

thanks everyone for their help
