I'm just still keen to see the results of the speedtest.net app, because so far there hasn't been a single piece of evidence to suggest there is actually an issue that needs to be solved.

If that delivers good speeds it's just the usual PC issues and limitations of browser based testing and there is no actual issue.

If that delivers poor speeds the issue is either MR, CHorus/LFC or the PC (and it wouldn't be the first time I've seen a post on here describing a PC that could deliver 800Mbps that now can't after an upgrade)

I can’t post my results as this forum doesn’t allow new members to post links.

Let’s say your right and both the Gbit ports on my Server and the one my main machine has failed all three at the same time and this is just a hardware limitation... Wouldn’t I expect to see 500 both ways like you would see 100/100 on a 100/10 port?

Or maybe I’m lying cause I want a fridge or I saw a better plan elsewhere!

Where else am I going to get a 1G plan with a free static ip for this price? Do your own comparisons. What could I possibly gain from making this up?

This sounds to me to be the very definition of "a little knowledge being dangerous". It's always the hardest part of any service business when the customer thinks they know as much or more than the provider.

There is a very small chance this is a RSP or Chorus issue, and I'd hardly call anything at MR "premium" but so far I've seen nothing to indicate MYR want to do anything nefarious. The claim of extortion is nonsense.

I guess I'll wait for the thread that starts after the OP gets released from his contract, switches to new provider and then has issues.

Your right I’m a jerk customer who wants what I’m paying for and doesn’t think I should have to sacrifice my privacy because some over zealous rep thinks he knows my machines better than I do.. I must be a real jerk.

I can’t check real time performance from home, I can only ping the ONT and see what the port is defaulting to.

You do not need to post links - you can simply say what your results are. The only result that matters is what you get using the speedtest.net app - everything else is totally meaningless.

Nobody has ever said all 3 devices have failed. And no, browser or hardware based issues will not necessarily deliver symmetrical speeds.

Until you can post the results of the speedtest.net app there is absolutely nothing that can be added to this this thread, because right now there is nothing at all to indicate (based on your testing methodology so far) that there is a fault.

There are people here on GZ that deal with speedtest issues all day every day, and probably a good 30-40 threads (at a minimum) over the past year or so with people who have seen performance issues on 1Gbps plans. There has never been a single thread I'm aware (excluding MR issues in there early days but I don't think they offered 1Gbps then) where the RSP has been at fault. All have been issues relating to the hardware of testing methodology.

None of this is to say MR aren't at fault, it's merely that you haven't presented a single piece of evidence so far that there is even an issue to be fixed.

You can't ping an ONT. It's a transparent bridge that has no IP address.

chrispa6e: The complaint form on the MYR web page asks that same question and right now I’d be happy just being released from contract so I can churn without penalty.

As you're probably aware, nobody here can help you with that.

A number of technical suggestions have been made by some very knowledgeable people - if you are not wanting to take these on board, there's little else that anyone here can offer you, and it's probably best if you deal directly with MyRepublic in terms of either addressing the issue (from a tech perspective), or changing provider if you'd prefer that.

I am aware but, I’ve also seen MYR post in this forum and since I don’t use Facebook this is the most public place I’ve found to make a noise.
