Dumb question. But why would 2d implement CG-NAT when they use IPv6?

Their cgnat is only on ipv4. Ipv6 is still public.

If you were to only have ipv6 your Internet realm would be very small..

Hi All,

After a bit of investigation we have identified some routing improvements we can make with the AKl server based on the recent network augments that were made as part of our RWC2019 preparation. We will implement a change to see if this resolves the issue, failing that we will look at alternatives.

I'll provide updates once that change is made.

Nick.

My son notices very slow ping xbox gaming at 8pm 150ms. We are on 1gb connection.. and till recently I used static IP.. any chance CG-NAT has impacted here? should I go back static?

@attewell What is the ping before 8pm and where is the server he is playing on?

Edit: How is your son measuring the ping?

He is playing Rainbow6 which I assume is in Aussie.

Ping before 8pm is 40-60ms and after 140ms+

@attewell Are you aware ping / icmp packets don't have priority on the network and basically go to the back of the line? So as network traffic increases these times will increase

@attewell So then tell him to do some reading on how the internet works and then say to him if you don't like it pay for your own internet connection :p

Edit: I hope he only games over Ethernet and not Wi-Fi

press F10 or click on the Gear Icon in the top right corner. Below the options, you will see the currently selected Datacenter, your ping to the right of it and your NAT type below.

they use Microsoft azure servers from what i can find but they don't give out the IP addresses.

Back when i used to play seige you couldnt really easily..

Could always alt tab, and trace the IP it's connecting to, but normally just know instantly seeing the ping.

Happens quite often with AU based hosting, Overwatch is also quite common to have this happen.
