ahmad: Ignoring whether or not I should be doing it or not, are there any iPhone apps or jailbroken apps that will allow me to VoIP over 3G to a loved one on a fixed ADSL line?

Off topic, but Skype works rather well

Apologies - Skype doesn't work on 3G, only on Wifi.

I forget that in nearly all places where I use my iPhone during the day I have a wifi connection!
