I do not really need to know the number beforehand, just worried that i might not be able to get a 2degrees SIM card at the airport. Anyway see how it goes, maybe will check on the Dick smith shop in the airport.
Hi There - FYI a mate of mine over from Sydney recently had real trouble getting a 2D Sim here in Chch (they were sold out at gas stations) - he had to go to DSE, no probs there. Anyway in general terms I think the best IDD rates from an NZ prepay mobile will probably be using a Voda connection and a V8 calling card (http://www.v8phonecard.co.nz/ratev8.html) - I see they are charging 3.9c/min with a 19 cent flagfall/connect fee.
Or alternately SuperBuzz calling card that operates in a similiar way from a Voda NZ mobile (no connect fee and a low per min rate) http://www.superbuzz.co.nz/Super-Buzz-Asia/Pages/default.aspx You can buy online I think?

There are 2 Service Stations immediately outside the airport that stock 2 Degrees sims.. The airport does not appear to be listed in the store locater tool on the 2 Degrees website.

1. 318 Harewood Road, Bishopdale Distance from Airport - 4.6 km (about 7 mins)
Head northeast on Orchard Rd toward Durey Rd Go through 1 roundabout, travel 1.6 km. Turn right at Harewood Rd Go through 1 roundabout Destination will be on the left after 3.0 km
2. Shell Burnside Distance from Airport - 3.2 km (about 7 mins)
1. Head northeast on Orchard Rd 21 m 2. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Memorial Ave 0.6 km 3. At the roundabout, take the 1st exit onto Russley Rd 0.8 km 4. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit onto Wairakei Rd, destination will be on the right
Thats an excellent idea richms....... Perhaps you should make them a proposition? It would be a heck of alot simpler to manage the supply and distribution of sim card stock if it was done by machines... and being a mobile network, theyd be able to get realtime stats of their stock using a mobile data based accounting system... (kind of like the system Konicaminolta use on their copiers for accounting and billing their leased copiers on per-page plans.)
