freitasm: I am told by a good source this is the case. Outside 2Degress coverage you will be roaming on Vodafone and the mobile data bundles will not apply.

You will be paying casual data.

Hi Mauricio,

I definitely get data bundles, even comes up in the iPhone Consume app as megs remaining.  The text actually confirms this too - I think what I must be using is a "National" data bundle:

"All usage will be charged against your
National Data Bundle whilst available."

Cheers,

Robbie.

The other possibility is that you are using a 2 degrees sim, but have registered on the Vodafone network - non-native roaming if you will - which means you will pay standard roaming charges.

Hi, yes, using a 2d sim, but roaming on Voda.  I still pay 2d rates though, I'm charged the same whether I'm in a metro or out in the boonies.

Well that's pretty balls. Looks like i'll be sticking with vodafone for data then :(
(I live in Hamilton, no 2d's towers here)

Yeah but were only speculating here.

What if 2degrees offered crazy plans like - $10/Gig within zone and $20/gig out of zone?
We can only speculate. But what it does seem like is they will offer a broadband zone price and a national price.

Hi Mauricio,

Yes, I am just trying to correct the erroneous statements on page 1.  Data bundles are definitely available outside main centers.  You may want to correct this, as 2d
just lost a potential customer (2 comments above) due to your statement.

Oh whew, that's less balls then.
Assuming that roaming on VF on 3G is still using your data bundle, then that's fine.

Still, wonder what the whole "national data bundle" thing was about?

So this is why I got a text saying my 'National Data ValuePack' had less than 5MB remaining.

This is an interesting development.

That message could mean so many different things that speculating is pointless....

We don't know what plans they are going to be offering in the future or what they are testing... its possible that a message like that could be generated only under certain conditions like data plan x or post-paid plan y..... we just dont know.
