Btw, the app market shows. as of this hour.

60 total
50 active installs (83%)

aparently that means that 10 people have uninstalled it.. I think there was more downloads from the andappstore, its hard to tell from its information as updates were counted as seperate downloads, I wont be keeping that store up-to-date though and may remove myself from it..

I haven't gone through the whole discussion, so is there a reason why using screen scrapping instead of a USSD call to *100*1#? Or is this something not supported by the Android SDK?

I have downloaded the widget to my phone but cannot see it.
Am new to Android so it might be something I am doing or not doing.

Will it work on on an LG P500?

I have to say it would be a great app if I can get it working.

click and hold at the homescreen - then add the 2degrees widget onto the screen. it is not an app, it is a widget so you will not see it like other apps that you have downloaded & installed.

click the link below for more info about widget vs app.

2DegreesCare: Hi all,

We do not support the app, but have noticed that it is becoming very popular and it certainly appears to be a useful way of watching your balance. But because we did not create it, we cannot guarantee that it is accurate or safe to use.

Much the answer I expected from 2degrees, thats fine by me..

Even more of a better time to contact them and see if they are interested in working with you to support it :-)

Thankyou nakedmolerat - that worked.

This is a great widget - I have given it 5 stars

USSD, Iv been using a 3rd party app for months that pulls the USSD response.

I'd say that sooner or later - 2degrees will end up bringing this app out anyway as I would expect them to create a smartphone based version of their self care portal.

Exactly, so it must be possible.  I might look into it, it would be much cleaner and you wouldn't have to worry about data.  Would we then worry about overloading 2degree's USSD server?! :)

Hey, the web site is Somebody Else's Problem, but the USSD gateway is *mine*!! ;-)

I just don't get why this has not been done yet.

You mean, why there's not an official app for any/all of the providers?  Especially since 2degrees are proud of their Androidness.

The other thing to consider is that I don't think all the info is returned in the USSD message.

I just uploaded an update, this should make it work a bit smoother and nicer, and fix the data loss problems..

Problem with USSD, is lack of data, plus to get that info in an android application is an hack of one of the android base applications, third is the the cell network has a limit to the number of those messages that it can transmit in a day (hows that surprising?)..

Hmm, the widget updated in the Market and now it doesn't work :(

When trying to update it always crashes and asks me to Force Close or Report.

Is there a way to roll back an update?
