Tohe: I'm sure you would still be able to use this service without being a Telecom customer for home phone and internet...
I'm sure the Telecom option would be one of the simplest.

zocster: just couple of things to consider, ... one is scalability and the other is the ease of migration once you have outgrown your requirement :) because migration = downtime.
shaned: I've just skimmed the thread and didn't notice anyone asking your budget. If you're trying to do things on the cheap then the above advice is all good. But I believe that to get the most benefit from a business website you probably need to have it professionally designed. A designer will likely suggest a content management system and may help you get your head around it. You can pay anywhere from 1 to 10 grand, but I'd recommend spending around 2. (Don't look at my site, I designed it myself and I'm clearly not a web designer)
I'd also recommend shopping around for a registrar, host and designer separately. I've seen friends tie themselves into combo deals and end up paying much more than necessarily.
NeilWeb: Have you looked at open host? They have free access to site builder http://www.openhost.co.nz/sitebuilder/ and hosting from $6.99 per month.
I just built my site on site builder, there isn't too much to learn for a non techie like me. It's not the prettiest site in the world but it does the job. (www.neilwebster.co.nz)
