eljefe: Cripes, theres buggerall selection out there if you want to go with telecom eh?

Seems to be a lag for carriers who do 3G on 850MHz. The biggest is AT&T and they have the iPhone exclusive...and the rest out there aren't big enough to drive the sort of volumes that seem among the first wave of new phone models. They are consistently following on.

If I were on Telecom XT, the only phone worth looking at is the Samsung Galaxy S....but if I had to get some other one, I guess it would be the Milestone - big screen, capacitive, can get Froyo for it (I think - whether stock or modded).....I also had my hands on the Motorola Flip-out square-thing.....and it runs Android v2.1.  No idea about Froyo.

If you want Flash support you MUST have a phone with an ARMv7 processor...and that takes you back to the Samsung Galaxy S.

End of story.

You could see if you can get a Nexus One from ebay that was for AT&T

Staying in Wellington. Check out my AirBnB in the Wellington CBD.  https://www.airbnb.co.nz/h/wellycbd  PM me and mention GZ to get a 15% discount and no AirBnB charges.

They were only available for sale for about 8 weeks - from announcement to Google putting Nexus One into developer-only mode due to lack of AMOLED screens......and are definitely deeply hens' teeth.

I'm sorry I didn't get one as I could probably get more than the original price for it.

There are still a few on ebay if you wanted one.

GRR, I think I lost my last post when it timed out...

IDEOS    240x320 2.8 inch 256 colours
samsung  240x320 2.8 inch 16m colours
wildfire 240x320 3.2 inch 16m colours
Optimus  320x480 3.0 inch 256 colours

If all screens were of the same quality, which would be the most desirable?
The 3.2, or the 320x480 ?

I think I can only be disappointed if I compare to my wifes ipod touch : (

I found more apps available with the higher resolution as opposed to screen size....
Mind you, my QVGA toy was the Okta Touch running froyo. (I have played with a motorola flipout with a custom rom, not sure if 2.1 or 2.2,  but I hated it)

I'm happier with my GT540 running 2.1.

Personal preference I suppose.

Trademe just seems to have a bunch of Asus Garmin A10's dumped on it for under $500.
Possibely competiton prizes, given that most are still boxed.

Only 1.6 OS tho : (

GT540 is 1.6 factory atm but I'm running an Aussie 2.1 unbranded ROM

A10 might have an update.

I don't know if the GT540 NZ one has come out as my updater ignores it now it's 2.1

Just something to think about
