Not really. It may have had a couple of slips onto carpet (from a short height), but nothing major.

I've been an iPhone user since the 3G was first released here but for the last while I've been getting bored with iOS and the iPhone and its piddly display, so after a lot of consideration (I was surprised that virtually all of my iOS apps are on Android) I went out and bought the One X from Warehouse Stationery last week.

So far I'm really impressed with Android ICS, and I think the Sense overlay is pretty good too. The display of the One X runs rings around the iPhone, and apps, photos and videos are just that much more enjoyable.

In my experiences so far the two things that are getting to me are the average battery life and the wonky GPS (with Navigation and a running app I use). I occasionally also notice a bit of lag when swiping between screens. I know the 1.28/1.29 update is supposed to help with battery life and making it feel faster, but it's frustrating waiting for Telecom to release the update, especially when the Samsung Galaxy S III appears to have much better battery life and better GPS, and from the videos I've seen so far runs a lot smoother than version 1.26 on the One X.

I like my One X but if the Galaxy is going to be a much better experience out of the box then I might be tempted to switch!

Might sell my one x... battery needs to last a day, however the UI has a lot to answer for. I find that I have to hold back the usage now... iPhone 4 was a lot better for battery and the apps worked as they should :)

And a response from Telecom when I asked about this on twitter:

"We've got an update in testing now, shouldn't be too far away, cheers  ^RI"

I'm new to Android and this whole bootloader unlocking and rooting thing. If I understand it correctly, we can actually unlock the bootloader on our Telecom-purchased One X and install the latest stock image??

I am currently looking at upgrading my phone (Samsung Galaxy S). The current deal of $799 for the HTC One X at the Warehouse Stationery is very tempting. Those that have the phone, would you recomend the HTC One X as a good phone to buy or should I wait for the S3 to be released and then make up my mind on which phone to buy....

I've come from an iPhone 4 (I'd been a very happy iOS user for a few years) to the HTC One X and I love it. I can't compare to the S3 though. The 4.7" screen really must be seen to be believed, and its a pretty solid performer. The camera app is the best I've used on a phone, and while I'm no photo geek I've been happy with the quality of the photos it takes too. At the Warehouse Stationary special price, I think this phone is an absolute steal.

It's only a week now until the S3 comes out, I think it better to wait and see how the chips fall!

The One X for $800 is a great deal, I paid more than that to import with no GST. The GS3 will be $200 to 300 more expensive. But if cost is no object, wait another week and try out the GS3.
