Would get from einfotech as I have a Nexus which is faulty. So switching for an upgrade.

Even with 1.29 it can suck the battery rather fast when you're gaming on it!

Although I'm not 100% sure as only had it a couple of days, almost entirely all at home, but I think it should still be ok for my use case (probably never more than a few hours away from a charger on a regular daily basis, except on nights out in town when the day would be longer....). But I imagine if I was travelling a lot then I could find this a royal pain, probably if I ever do go holiday I shall get beforehand an external battery pack as I reckon in such usage (on a plane travelling etc) it would certainly need it.

Anyway.... I'm going to be quite fanatical in trying to protect this phone, as I have a poor track record with phones and this is my first bleeding edge market topping superphone (although had plenty of mid range smartphones in the past).

Currently I got today a soft but tough little pouch for it (kinda like a thinner camera pouch for compact cameras), I plan to keep it in there most of the time when I'm out of the house. But for about the house, and whenever I'm out and about but got the phone out of the pouch I still need some protection.

So I'm thinking a screen protector + a thin casing around the phone, such as one of these:

Running Villain now, based on a 1.29.
Too early to be 100% sure but so far it seems to be kicking the arse of the stock telecom Rom as far as battery goes. And its a lot smoother in use.
Only negative is it takes a long time to power on and off. To power on you have to hold volume up + power which scared me until I worked it out as I couldny turn it on!

Villain ROM is awesome. Makes Mr happy to have a One X again. Can actually get through a day without a recharge!

I think its time to bite the bullet and have my first crack at installing a custom ROM on my One X. Can someone recommend a good place to start with this (n00bs guide, recommended JellyBean ROM for Telecom model etc)?

My handset is one of the ones from the TelecomTech blogging initiative, and I understand these handsets have S-OFF (edit: just confirmed this by booting into HBOOT) , which I've been told should make things pretty painless.

I've actually been recommended this JellyBean ROM by someone who has successfully flashed it onto their HOX.

As long as I can easily revert back to the original ROM (I believe I've got the correct RUU stashed away, but will double-check before proceeding), I don't mind giving slightly bleeding edge ROMs a crack. After all, I've still got my iPhone 4 if everything goes completely pear shaped :-)

Upgraded mine last night, UI seems smoother, fingers cross the battery life improvements are noticeable.

Maybe this had something to do with Telecom pushing 1.29 finally;

Hi guys,

Recently got the One X from MobiCity. Great phone but I have come across this issue to do with the wallpaper (not live wallpaper, just the static one).

It stretches photos quite badly, and not to mention using HTC's wallpaper setting it restricts the amount of photo you get to display. Using QuickPic doesn't help either - shows more of the image but still looks stretched.

Currently running 4.0.3. Has anyone come across this issue? My Sammy can display any photo without stretching.

Just got the 4.0.4 update!!!

such a great update, finally got rid of the black bar with three white dots!!

default browser has also had some great polishes.

this also marks a big step toward Jelly bean.

I will post a update in a day or two when I can give you a full rundown but for now, time to PLAY!!
