Is it possible ? Haven't managed to figure it out yet.

(kinda ironic that the I version of sky won't work on the I device !!!!)

Cheers

Think it uses flash, and apple won't allow flash on ipad.

Be nice if sky put out application that would do it. Runs terrible on my computer, mind you it's 10 years old, windows xp.

Yeah, needs flash to run.

Maybe one day, Sky will get with the program. Thousands of users out there with the worlds most popular tablet device in their hands unable to watch their fave shows and sports...seems a little counter-intuitive, if you ask me.

I've been watching iSky on my I-Pad for the last few months. Cutting a long story short, I use Splashtop. In effect, I'm using my I-Pad as a virtual monitor (over WiFi) which connects to a dedicated computer in the depths of my garage which runs iSky. It works like a charm on the local network but the frame rate drops off remotely (I.e., over cellular).

Hope this helps.

Splashtop is a truly amazing app. I get the impression that it's not widely known about? I now have my laptop set up with 'wake on LAN' so I can wake and close down the laptop remotely from my iPad. The connection from the router to the PC needs to be wired tho', not wireless (on my set-up at least).

Which particular Splashtop App do you use, please? There are a few in the App Store.

I am using 'Splashtop Remote Desktop For iPad' version 1.7.5.4

You will also need to download 'Splashtop Streamer' onto your computer which is free.

Enjoy.

It's funny what Sky have done here,

You can download the Sky App for i-devices and see the guide, set remote recordings, but you can't view isky.

No guide app for the android, but you can view isky on it (I was able to watch Super 15 over my GPRS connection)
(and while I can use the flash guide from the sky website on the android, it's kind of painful)

It's unfortunate that Sky NZ and Sky UK don't seem to share technology as there is an App for watching Sky in the UK. They are the same company?

If they used HTML5 and not Flash, ,all will be well in iLand, but I will happily try Splashtop, tks for the headsup.

Is it simplistically, playing iSky on the PC, and using Splashtop on the iPad to mirror that? Can Splashtop "use" iSky on the iPad, as in use the menu's etc?

Yes, you are cloning your PC screen.

Nothing beats running (insert your operating system here) on your iPad. Usually makes a few heads turn if they don't know what's going on.

The Sky iDevice app is pretty useful but it could be refined for the better.

eg. it would be good if: (1) when you fire it up, it would show which programmes are already set up to be recorded and (2) it was able to handle the 'series link' thing.

Splashtop is streaming video perfectly from my MacMini to my iPad 2...
BUT, there's no volume.
Any ideas on how to solve this?
I'm running an external USB DAC into my stereo, but changing the audio output device to 'internal speakers' and re-booting hasn't helped.
Any ideas?

When Splashtop starts the default speaker setting is that Mac/PC speaker is turned off and iPad speaker is on. Not sure if this helps.

The Sky app for the iPad has just updated, ver 1.0.5 (114). It now works in landscape mode. It loads faster as well.
