Hi There!

I am wondering if anyone else has noticed that food tv seems to do more repeats and less variety of programming recently? I am so sick of cup cake wars!

I wonder where the best place to give feedback on that is?

Write to SKY, but I would doubt they would listen.
I agree... too many repeats and potentially the programmers need to realise that cupcakes are so last year !

Same for documentaries, at the moment the only one really worth watching is BBC Discovery and Choice. It often happens around xmas.

Surely they don't have a big budget for original programming. I would have thought Food/Living/their ilk would just be consolidating genre specific shows from regular broadcast TV channels. Until those channels start making more programs its unlikely anything new will appear on Food, etc....

Thanks for your valuable feedback. We are currently trialing a new programming strategy where a show is repeated after 4 hours, similar to a lot of other Sky TV channels.
Sorry you don?t like our cupcake shows. Our programmers tend to keep the baking shows to the weekend as that is when a lot of people want baking inspiration.
We will be sure to pass your feedback on.

The default channel in our house is Food TV and certainly when it's on all he time you get to see many repeats.

Since somebody has started a topic on this I thought I would add my two cents worth on their programming.

I hate (in partcular order)

Cup Cake Wars!
Good Chef/Bad Chef (and that is doubly annoying since it's on when I have breakfast in the morning)
Dinner party wars (what's the point and it's so stereotypical to cast if that is the word, a Brit for the bad judge and she is very unappealing as a TV personality)
Perfect (how can 3 random people judge a dish to be perfec!)
Endless repeats as the OP noted
Most of the voice-over talent (if it can be calle talent). There is so much voice-over work done on the commerials, they really need to find people with good diction and pleasant sounding voices

Well they seem open to feedback so I would voice your opinion. I'd love to see more people voice their opinion so things change.

I thought Sky didn't have ad's but it certainly doesn't appear that way now...

Also I'd like to see HD programming on this channel. On 106" projector SD looks very average!

On any TV the Living/Food channels look below average. Some of it is letterboxed and has the bars on the sides so you get the picture inside a black box. Yuck.

Agreed on the repeats. It used to be that the daily schedule was 8 hours of programming that started at 4PM, and repeated at midnight and then 8am (was quite good if you wanted to record something at primetime but were already recording something on another couple of channels - you could just record the one at 4am). The 8 hour cycle was OK, it now seems to repeat more often in the afternoon.
