Hi guys

I've brought multiroom and am trying to use my 2nd decoder at another location. I'm wondering if anyone could provide their settings for their decoder if they live on the North Shore in Auckland in a apartment or if someone could point me in the right direction if they have any knowledge in this area. I understand that will be dependant on my aerial but if anyone has any settings I could try for an apartment that would be great. This is my current setup which yields the following figures in a signal test

Strength : 41dBuV
Quality : 8.5dB

High Band LO Frequency (GHz) : 11.30
LNB power supply: On
East West Flag: East
Tone on for Orbital location: 160.0
22 Khz Command: Satellite

Transponder:

Frequency (Ghz): 12.456
Polarisation: V
Symbol Rate (Kbaud) : 22500
FEC : 3/4
East West Flag: East
Orbital Location: 160.0

If anyone could help out that would be awesome!

Note: to access these settings press [On sky remote] setup - 4 - 0759 ; provides a list of sub titles

The sky technician will sort this out for you when they do the multiroom instal. If they haven't done it properly then call sky and get them to come back.

Note by another location I mean the sky account is in East Auckland and I've brought my 2nd decoder to the North Shore. Thanks

High Band LO Frequency (GHz) : 10.75
LNB power supply: On
East West Flag: East
Tone on for Orbital location: 156.0
22 Khz Command: Satellite

Transponder:

Frequency (Ghz): 12.519
Polarisation: H
Symbol Rate (Kbaud) : 22500
FEC : 3/4
East West Flag: East
Orbital Location: 160.0

See above. Problem most likely related to LNB local oscillator frequency. I changed to 10.75 and corrected the other errors in relation to default transponder and use of tone on Optus C1/D3 at 156 East rather than D1.

Tried those settings with no avail. If anyone else has any settings post em, willing to try out any! Note the old freeview decoder had these settings:

LNB Type :11300
LNB Offset 0v
Satellite: Optud D1 (160.0E)

Signal Reception:

12456 MHz 22500 kSym/s 3/4

Note: The settings I gave you come straight off a mySky HDi so are correct apart from correcting the LNB lo frequency for your particular dish. If you have a single throat 11300 MHz LNB that could never use the tone then maybe set this setting to OFF.

P.S. Pointing a Sky decoder to a Freeview transponder on the wrong polarity is hardly going to work.

Sorry I'm not clued up on how aerials and satellites work so I have no idea what I'm doing really. Do I need to find the satellite on the roof to aid my cause? Which probably wouldn't be possible considering its a V shaped roof. I adjusted it back to the original mysky settings but truly have no idea where to go from there.

If its on the original Sky settings then the only thing to change is the LNB lo frequency (and/or turning off of the 22 kHz tone if the LNB doesn't point to 156E).

Polarization is set to V. It should be H. Try to change that if you can.

Hey yeah have set it to H but still no luck, anyone know if when I change settings I have to turn the power off to the sky box for the changes to actually take effect? I'm almost tempted to go door knocking on other apartments to see if they have sky :)

If the LNB serves many apartments it most likely has its own power supply in which case you can turn the LNB power to off.

All sorted! Cheers spyware for your help, LNB set to 11.30 and turned off 22 KHz Command. Also had the coax in terminal 4 of the sky box swapped it out to 1
