Hi Guys,

I have just moved in to a new house and am having some issues with getting my 2nd TV to pick up any channels

The first TV works fine, it has a HDMI cable running to it from the SKYBox and a lead for the "SKY" aerial socket to INPUT1 on the Sky decoder

Im waiting to run my SKYHD decoder and a freeview decoder if possible

The house in a central cupboard has a face plate with the following Sky, UHF , Return , FM

I have checked and there is 2 separate aerials on teh roof 1 Sky Dish & 1 UHF

Can someone explain to me what goes where ?

Your Sky setup is go, with luck the Freeview antenna connection will work just plugged into the UHF socket. I say "with luck" because it may not have been used for some time and has corroded or failed for some other reason. If there are problems, the antenna and the cabling may need to be checked.

Firstly you need to tell us what type of Freeview decoder you have. Is it a terrestrial or satellite decoder?

If you can't laugh at yourself then you probably shouldn't laugh at others.

Its a Strong SRT4300, it has the following on the back

LNB Input

Loop Out

TV ANT In

RF Out UHF

Sky outlet to SRT4300 LNB Input

SRT4300 Loop Out to Sky Decoder INPUT 1

OR split the Sky outlet to SRT4300 LNB Input and Sky Decoder Input 1.

OR supply UHF outlet to TVs DVB-T tuner.

Spark Max Fibre using Mikrotik CCR1009-8G-1S-1S+, CRS125-24G-1S, Unifi UAP, U6-Pro, UAP-AC-M-Pro, Apple TV 4K (2022), Apple TV 4K (2017), iPad Air 1st gen, iPad Air 4th gen, iPhone 13, SkyNZ3151 (the white box). If it doesn't move then it's data cabled.

Sat feed, get it split, all ports power pass. One to sky and 1 to freeview. Job done.

Don't use the loop out, if your freeview box fails it will take out the sky too.

Thanks i tried the SKy outlet to SRT4300 LNB Input and then looped to the SKY decoder with no luck (I still got SKY on 1 TV but not the other & Freeview on No TVs)

Do i need to use an RF modulator at all ?

And is the Return socket not needed at all ?

Any help would be appriciated

You've got every clue you need, i.e., obviously both decoders need sat signal. You don't even bother mentioning if the SRT4300 is configured correctly. If you can't fathom the basics then call an installer.
