Greetings,

I usually take sky away on holiday and have a portable dish that I set up with compas etc. On the old sky boxes, you an go straight to the signal meter  and tune the thing in.  On my new MY Sky HD box it's another story... When I connect the portable dish and turn My Sky HD on, it comes up with "no signal" and shuts down the power to the LNB (sat dish). In other words, you cant tune in the dish (LNB) cause it doesn't have power.

Grrrrr... any suggestions?

Thanks in advance.

Not sure about the no power to the LNB problem but as far as using another portable dish you may need to change to L.O. setting in the my sky box.
(The Local Oscillator is built into an LNB as a tuning Baseline,It is a reference point that you must tell the receiver.
The L.O. is LNB specific and has nothing to do with an individual satellite)
The new dual LNB that sky currently fit is 10750 but older dishes or ones supplyed from elseware may be 11300. Look at your portable dish LNB the L.O. number should be written on it.

See how you go,but remember to change it back when you get back home.

As pointed out you need to change the LO frequency to match you portable one, sky would have updated you home one to a new 10750 LNB when you had MySky installed, 0759 will give you access to this setup or alternatively you can get a new LNB for you portable dish from various online suppliers.

Thanks guys.

Question though... how do I get into the advanced set up menu that allows me to change this? I tried the 0758# (but there's no # on the remote)

Sky didn't change the LNB when they installed My SKY HD. I share a larger dish that services 9 other units.

Hi, if you are in an appartment then your LNB will most likely be set to 11300, whats your caravan LNB, if its the same (ie 11300) then next question is does your MySky have the LNB power turned on, again you need the service menu for this, which I am pretty sure is 0759.

Sorry, I am not a Sky tech, so dont know the code, but did manage to access it once when trying to sort out this exact problem, pretty sure just 0759 or 7590, but beyond that you will need to find someone who knows that exact detail.

Cheers
