I have just finish reading another thread but cannot carry on different issue on that topic so starting this one.
Single upstairs downstairs dwelling
A. Standard decoder (seperate account,install) B.Standard decoder(multi roomed) C. MySkyHDi

B. is installed directly to the dish
A. & C. have splitters on same cable connected to dish
C. & B. on same account.

Reason 2 accounts at same address, different wants and pay own bill.
My query is...am I able to connect the Freeview stb with the B.& C. collective using the only dish?
Loosely informed that the dish could only have "2 or 3 max stbs connected to it or pixelated signal will arise". Just looking for second opinions, end result maybe to get another dish installed and seperate individual users to its own dish as noted in other thread.
Really would like to know as knowledge helps lessen the fear of the unknown

There should be no problems, you can split a sat signal 6 or more ways before any amplification may be needed. A typical system has 20-25dB system loss budget, at 3db/10m of coax, just under 6dB for a 2way splitter, 11dB for a 4way and 15dB for a 8way there is plenty to play with. Important thing is to watch the quality measurement, the signal may get down to 15-20% but if the quality is still 75% then all should be good (the built in meters are only a guide as they are not calibrated but can provide relative readings as you introduce loss.

Only last week I installed 6 FTA sat recivers in a new home, 2 on 52" plasmas and the other 4 strapped to the back of wall mounted 32" LCDs in the bedrooms, this also included a 20m run from the distribution point to the dish as the developer wanted the dish on the garage which meant an underground run. All signals were 52dBuV according to my meter with BER reading better than E-6 so no problems.
