Hi there,
keen for some advice from people not trying to sell me something. We have just brought a Panasonic py800 full HD screen and a eh58 upscaling or upconerting?(one or the other) Recorder and i have a query regarding my sky connections. We have no standard aerial connnection, the only reception we receive is through our digital sky decoder. We shifted the TV position in the lounge and didnt bother shifting the aerial cable. We also have an older slimline Pioneer csx-501 amp, which may get upgraded if i can talk the boss around
I currently have running,
Sky Pace 230 - Scart/Component(sky issue) - Tv 576i, "reasonably happy with picture",
2nd Sky - Scart/Composite - Recorder - HDMI - TV (shows 1080p input on screen, but what actually is it in relation to my AV1 picture?, has it been upconverted at all? Sometimes it looks comparable to my AV1 576i picture, other times not so good.
Would i be better to ditch the link directly to the tv and run all sky through the Recorder fulltime,
Sky - Scart/Svideo - Recorder - HDMI - TV? I understand component is better but will the recorder upconvert/scale the resolution to a better picture than the 576i i'm currently on, would the cost of the Scart/Svideo cable be worth the benefit?
Apologises for what is possibly a stupid question, but your advice would be much appreciated.
Cheers
