My views (except when I am looking out their windows) are not those of my employer.
jmacg: I just know what happened on my system and I was highly pissed off to have missed the best match of the year.

If you love the Rugby that much why haven't you got Sky Sports with the HD ticket? Then you could of recorded it, watched it later ( in HD if avaliable ) with no ads anyway - it's the only way now to watch Sports in our house.
jmacg: I don't have the Sky Sports channel because most sport I want to watch is in the weekend, and I usually live elsewhere in the weekends. And I'm not so mad about rugby that I want to watch games and analysis on Sky Sports during the week.
So I'm stuck with Prime, which I agree is a poor substitute, with far too many adverts ? and those adverts are all too often dropped into exciting periods of play when you're on the edge of your seat.
I was able to record a rugby test once - via Live Pause. I turned on Live Pause as soon as the game started, did other things for half and hour, then came back to it. I was able to fast-forward past the ads, which was a lot better than having to endure them. But I'm rarely able to do that - I want to be able to record the whole game and watch it later.
MarkX: There is absoulutely no way that Sky deliberately prevented you from recording the rugby.

How do you _know_ that?
I suspect Sky is capable of doing it. If I can remotely set things to record, I'm sure Sky has even more powerful remote capabilities. If they decided the rugby should not be recorded on Prime because of some contractual obligation, why wouldn't they retrospectively make the rugby game unrecordable - as they do for some other programmes - and broadcast a signal to all MySky HDi boxes to kill any recordings set up in the Planner. Remember, Sky is owned by Rupert Murdoch. How far would you trust him?
• I know what I set to record.
• I know it was listed as being there to record.
• I know it wasn't there later, when it should have been recorded.
Could it be a fault in my MySky HDi?
It's interesting that the Sky helpdesk people have not responded to my query about this. Perhaps they think I'm crazy or perhaps they are embarassed about something. Perhaps they just haven't got round to it yet, but it's been three days now.
