Hello,

Ever since we have had MySky HDI installed, I have a problem whereby if the Microwave oven is in use we lose the MySky signal. As soon as the Microwave stops, the signgal comes back. We also have an older Sky digital decoder in a 2nd room which also loses the signal when the Microwave oven is in use. This never used to happen until MySky HDI was installed. The Sky Digital box in the 2nd room used to run fine previously before MySky went in. We are not using any wireless devices to transmit the MySky signal. Its very strange to me and Sky don't seem to have any answers. Has anybody struck this before or know of some ideas to try and resolve? The only thing I can think of is that the tech who installed MySky might have changed some wiriing?

Try and move your microwave and see if that fixes it.

Could be it's too close to your dish?

EDIT: When the tech installs MySKY, they should upgrade the LNB on the dish, this is what might be causing your issues if the Microwave is too close

The Sky installer would have replaced your older 11300LO LNB with a 10750 LO one, these use a higher part of the LBand IF that is closer to the 2.4GHz microwave signal, they could put a 11300 LNB back, but this will not give you future exanded services on OptusD3.

So best thing todo is move the dish, LNB and any cabling as far away as possible from the microwave, and maybe also have the seal (RF) checked on your microwave.

This issue is becoming more common with the move to 10750LO LNB's but there are good reasons for doing that that outweigh the odd microwave and WiFi/2.4GHz cordless interference.

Your microwave is probably stuffed, as another has said. There is not supposed to be any interference between the microwave and Sky. To enjoy Sky (and your health) I'd recommend borrow a friend's (known brand name) microwave to confirm the issue is the microwave and then buy yourself a good new microwave (i.e. not from The Warehouse).

You can never have enough Volvos!

I have a friend with Mysky and whenever his fridge motor turned on, his picture and sound broke up.

By trial and error, I found the fault to be the Sky supplied HDMI cable. Swapped it for a $20 one from a computer shop nearby and the fault has gone.

Check your HDMI cable.
