Excellent Web site here and extremely informative indeed, many thanks to all involved.

Just following up a topic a few weeks ago regarding ESPN HD, is this indeed confirmed that it is coming to NZ and when?

And while on the subject anymore likely channels to put on Sky in the near future?

the transponder that Sky Sport 3 HD is on isn't full yet, suspect it'll go there. Seems to be 01 June that it's up and going.

Confirmed that it's going HD on 1st June, and ESPN3 will be available over iSky:

Side note, ESPN HD will require Sky Sports, and if you don't have Sky Sports they're cutting your subscription by about $1.50 or so.

I pay for sky basic package through telecom, anyone heard if there is going to be a reduction in this charge.
Also is the sports subscription going to be increased and if so by how much?

  • "From 1st June 2011 a brand new sports channel called ESPN 3 will be streamed online exclusively at www.isky.co.nz for all SKY Sport and Multiroom subscribers - register now!"

Does this mean you need both Sports and Mulitroom, or either or?

Sphyre: Both.

In that case I wish Sky would come up with an iSky sport package or something, not everyone needs/wants multiroom. I'd pay $10 for it.

If you have MySKY and the HD ticket multiroom is essentially $15 per month

Hmm are those price changes for everyone or just those with Sky through Vodafone?

I signed up recently on the 12-months half price basic package deal, so if this price change applies to me then I get nothing extra, and costs about an extra $5 per month. This is at a time when I'm unhappy about Sky not broadcasting any IPL or NHL playoffs, and about 1 NBA playoffs game per week. If they picked up ESPN2 Australia at least I'd happily pay extra

so new price starting 1 June
will be $47.66 for basic package without ESPN
that's $5.03 decrease from $52.69

but Sport Package will be $25.29 with ESPN
that's $7.13 increase from $18.16

shouldn't they just increase $5.03 for the sport package? or they should decrease $7.13 for the basic package without ESPN. just to be fair lol

This.

Because they can't use the "HD" excuse cause we already pay extra for it.

They can and do delete channels at their whim.
