Hi there,
Due to the apparent failure of my wonderful MyBlaster unit, I've attempted to use the IR Blaster that comes with the Hauppage 150 unit to drive a Sky Pace box (DS230). It doesn't appear to work? Have others on the forum been successful at this?  Is it possible to add new codes to the Hauppage IR config?

I have a Hauppauge blaster controlling my sky box using 7MC. It's the one that comes with the Hauppauge MCE remote kit.

You need to run the tv setup in windows media center and set the "signal speed" to medium (I forget what it's called exactly but it's the option that controls the pause between IR signals). The default is "fast" and I couldn't get it to work well using that

Are you using media center and have you run through the TV setup wizard?

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I'm using BeyondTV4.9 on XP. It recognises that the Hauppauge blaster is present.

But that's not much use because the Blaster config can't be set to control the box. firstly, the 'try all" option can't find a code that turns the box on/off.

The only pre-set Pace units are under satellite, and although the Pace knows it's been sent messages, it doesn't reconise them (eg. won't turn on/off).

I've downloaded a set up config for BSkyB Pace boxes in the Uk, but that doesn't work either.

So I've ordered a USB-UIRT box from the US to replace the MyBlaster unit, and we'll see how that goes.

There's a bit of strangeness in the MyBlaster unit problem. The HDD died, killing XP. So I've reinstalled but just can't get XP to recognise the MyBlaster. You'd have to think that was a driver problem, but running the MyBlaster install app makes no difference.
