The charging port on my wife's phone is busted, and although there are replacements available, I have not been able to find any in New Zealand.

Where can I find spares for this phone?

The connector looks like this:

Not sure if a connector from another model will fit this phone

I presume it's the 2 mm charging port like is used on other Nokia phones that don't use USB.

I'd say there's a fair chance that other similar style/shape Nokias (e.g. E71) use the same port.

I've never seen anywhere in New Zealand with these parts.  You will most likely need to order from overseas.

dont really think its worthwhile to fix it as it would be cheaper to buy a new one!

The parts are actually pretty cheap and easy to install so it definitely is cheaper than buying a new phone. A lot of Nokia phones use the same charger port component so one for another model may be compatible.

OP, I will have a look at home tonight and see if I have one that will be compatible. If I do I'll PM you and you can have it if you like.

Isnt there a mini or micro usb port on this phone? I used to own one and often used the usb to connect to my laptop. Wouldnt it charge fine off this as well? Then you only need a bog standard adapter/charging kit?

Im pretty sure it used to charge off the usb. Check the manual.

Edit: theres also these cheap adapters you could use also

Update... I did a quick search and it seems you cant charge from USB... but it might pay to check this yourself.

Not all Nokias with a USB charge off the USB

The connector port is actually not that dear, around $5 on Ebay or Asian sites.
The problem is it will probably take 4 -6 weeks to get here

UglyBob - If you do find one that is compatible, it would be much appreciated.
I'm sure it will be compatible with other phones too

Just took apart an old E63 so you can have the charger port out of that. PM me your details and I'll send it out.
