Hi

Does anyone know if the sanyo 8400's currently being sold can display a monochrome time/date when closed? I have one that is approximately 5 months old (ver. 1.010NZ) and can’t find this feature, yet looking at the product pictures on telecoms website it appears it does have the capacity?

Cheers

Sanyo 8400

Have you tried menu> settings> display> Screen saver> sub lcd> and off?  Then you can go to clock settings and set the style of clock you want.  If all else fails try a photo of a white wall and set that as your LCD.  That's what we suggest for nokia 6165 customers!!!

For the 6165 and 2855 etc, I made this theme which makes the displays much easier to read. I might edit it shortly as the text went a light blue instead of black on the External display.

The white wall suggestion is a good idea though.
