Hey all.
I am wanting to import cell phns from overseas for use on the new xt network.

Does anyone know any good places to get it from? i have absolutely no idea where to start, any ideas, thoughts and places you know of would be much appreciated.

If you have no idea where to start, why not start from the Telecom store, where you will certainly get something that "works" with nothing left to chance?

That would be easier but perhaps not so profitable haha. I have seen in another forum that someone was importing one from AT&T in the US but i dunno anything about how he did that.

And thanks, i used to have an account on here wayyyyyy back but it didn't work anymore?
Normally i just come in as a quest.

I don't think importing to the Xt network is a good idea since you will probably have to import the mobiles from the states.

When it comes to warranty how will you fix them?
How will you control the delivery time of your supplier?
Aren't phones usually lock overseas?Once unlocking has been done. Doesn't it void the warranty?

Some things I have to say about importing cellphones, probably it is not the best idea as there are way too much competition out there, but if you still want to import and make some sort of money out of it you will have to look for trusted wholesaler/distributers in places like china and hong kong, i have been importin stuff for quite awhile now to be honest there are products out there which have a much better margins then cellphones but if you are interested i have a blog about importing goods and imorting from china and other things about wholesale etc

Sort of related - is there a limit to how many phones a person can bring into the country from an overseas trip. I am thinking for personal use for me and family, not wanting to import a container full.

You won't find any mobiles that are imported from china or hong kong that works with 850mhz wcdma since they use 900/2100

I think finding a supplier that import that frequency is quite hard to find

No limit. Just remember that you're only allowed $700 worth of goods per person before you have to pat GST and duty on goods you bring in.
