Hello all, I've just bought my first cell phone, which is a Nokia 6255. I got the package that offered web support.

Now I've found a page that offers free downloads, which is http://www.zedge.no/
I've signed up and logged into it with my cell phone. The problem that I'm having is that the midi files that I would like to save to my phone for use as my ring tone, it won't allow me to save, it just plays it. Same goes for the pictures, it just displays them, but doesn't have the option to save it. The application/games part download just fine.

Can anybody offer me advice on what to do, as I'd really like to get this up and going...

First , going outside Telecom garden for WAP will cost you about 10c per 1k, that's not cheap. Also to get the ringtone saved to the phone , the website must use a descriptor file, with the extension .dd, This is based on OMA specs

Hi sed8ted - welcome to Geekzone.

cellman - sed8ted is in Canada, so Telecoms walled garden and external wap pricing are probably irrelevant.

Sed8ted - check with your provider about the cost of doing what your doing - it can sometimes be more cost effective to buy straight from your operator (even though the prices seem high, you may be paying a higher rate for data transfer when accessing the 'free' system zedge.no).

I thought the 6255 can use MP3 files straight off the MMC card slot? For me, this would be preferable to a midi file anyway.
