Hi - I am new to geekzone but have often used it for information - great site - I have just purchased Motorola Razor2 V9 - it was tested and worked on the XT Network before I got it.  I put my sim in and away it went - showing all contacts and searching for the network and thats as far as it got. My question is if it sees the sim and all contacts and has worked on the XT network before what do I do to fix the problem?  Also it just kept on searching and at no stage said no network coverage. Thank you

If the handset does not support WCDMA 850mhz do not use it on XT

XT has some 2100mhz WCDMA sites but very few and these are only for infill coverage & capacity

Here are the specs for the handset

2G Network GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900
3G Network HSDPA 2100

XT is %100 WCDMA 850mhz

No it will not work. Read johnr's post again - I will put here in bold:

johnr: Here are the specs for the handset

3G Network HSDPA 2100

XT is %100 WCDMA 850mhz

XT is 100% 3G 850MHz and this phone only supports 3G 2100 MHz. IT WON'T WORK.

This handset will NOT work on XT.

The device is 2100 3G only. The XT network is 850 3G.

Telecom have 2100 coverage across major cities this this is solely for infill and capacity. When you tested it you were obviously within coverage of one of these sites. This handset is only of any use for Vodafone and/or 2 degrees.

Got it thanks - did not read properly the first time and had not checked specs - would be easier if all phones worked on all networks but then that would be just too easy.
