I have a Sony Ericsson cellphone (W810i) which I purchased and used in France as part of a phone contract with the provider Orange. Now I have returned to New Zealand and would like to continue to use this phone, but with a local simcard. However, I have been informed that Orange 'locked' my simcard. Is there a (preferably free) way of overcoming this? I'd appreciate instructions on how to do this. Also, where would I be able to pick up a recharger with a NZ plug? Many thanks - in anticipation.
Thanks, but I'm not sure that will work. The company is in France - and I suspect are unlikely to give out those details. I was hoping someone could advise me on software that I could download to overwrite the locking mechanism (but I don't know if that sort of thing exists?).
Regardless of the company being in France - they are the ones who can provide the unlock code for free (if your contract has finished) or for a fee (if contract still current).
Other than this you will have to part with some of your money and pay someone to give you a code.
