G'day.

We have a swag of Harriers at work we bought when we were with Telecom.

I am led to believe the phones are near identical. Is it possible to mod a harrier to get it work on Vodafone network?

simple answer, No!
It wouldn't be cost effective nor easy, although with some hack job programming and a supply of suitable radio chips it could be possible.

Ok, rephrasing the question then:

What is the difference between the Telecom Harrier's and Vodafone's iMate PDA2k?

They both use similar case and OS, but the similarities end here.

The PDA2k is based on the HTC Blue Angel design, wich contains a GSM chipset, working on GSM/GPTRS networks.

The TNZ Harrier is based on the HTC Harrier design, and contains a CMDA2000 chipset, working on CDMA 1xRTT AND 1Xevdo networks.

Very different hardware and radio software.

They won't work in each other's networks.

Replacing the internals (motherboard and other bits) will cost more than each new unit, probably - and I doubt any repair company will do it for you.
