I am assuming this phone was not purchased in NZ since Vodafone NZ do not lock phones? As John says you'll need to contact the network the phone came from.

Vodafone NZ sold a few locked phones for a very limited time - only a couple of weeks. You can get the code for free, by calling an 0800 number. As JohnR says, search the Vodafone website.
