Appreciate if anyone has a data cable or a fix so I can use this on NZ networks. I have used the software unlock codes without success.

Are you trying to unlock it? I'd suggest calling up Orange at saying something like "I'm in New Zealand on holiday and I'm going to be longer than expected so can I have an unlock code to use a local sim card please?" it worked on AT&T when I got given a phone locked to their network.

Thanks,

I picked this up for Trade Me and wish I hadn't now as I knew that this phone was on 1800mhz and might cause me problems trying to unlock it.

I will email them and see what response I get.

Appreciate your feed back.

1800mhz has nothing to do with the unlocking of the handset

CAPTION TAKEN FROM ORANGE UK

All Orange phones are locked so that they can only be used on the Orange network.

You can have any handset unlocked to use on any compatible network. Once a handset has been unlocked it can be used with an Orange SIM and/or any other compatible network SIM.

Someone help me out here. The NK502 was released on 1800mhz so does this mean that even the handset is unlocked, it will only work on a compatiable 1800mhz sim card from other service providers?
