Has anyone succeeded in finding a code to program a Veon 24" LED TV for On/Off and volume on the remote? This is a new model TV VN2412LED from the Warehouse, and it works well, but the brand is not listed in the available remote codes. My search using the method listed in myTiVo didn't help.

Fingers crossed, can anyone help please.

I haven't had to try it, but heard you can cycle through all available codes. Here is the instructions from the TiVo website which may be the same you tried?

Cover the end of the TiVo remote control with your hand.
Hold down the TiVo and TV Power buttons simultaneously until the red (or amber) light on the remote control remains on.
Remove your hand from the end of the TiVo remote control.
Enter code 0999.
After you enter the code, the red (or amber) light will flash three times and then remain on.
Press Channel Up once every two seconds. This will test hundreds of codes, one by one.

IMPORTANT: Do not go any faster than this or you may skip over a code that works. If you press Channel Up and your TV turns off, press Enter to select the code. Press the TV Power button to test the code. If your TV turns on, you have successfully programmed the remote. If you cycle through all the codes, the red LED will go off, indicating that you have tried all the codes. If this happens, or if you selected a code but the TV does not respond to the test, try again to make sure you did not skip over your code by going too fast.

AFAIK if that doesn't work then there is nothing you can do, at least not with the standard TiVo remote.

Lazy is such an ugly word, I prefer to call it selective participation

Are Veon TVs a rebrand? Maybe try googling the model number to see what other brands use it. Otherwise use trial and error. Perhaps ask the warehouse staff about it, to see if they can find out.

@ mattwnz: In this case, Google is not my friend. And, although I don't like to criticise retail staff because most do a good job under difficult circumstances, hmm... perhaps just a comment that their talent often does not extend past the instructions on how to use the POS terminal, and sometimes, not even for that. Most would not even know what a TiVo was - you want the clothing section sir...?

I had different brand, similar shizzle. A basic Phillips learning remote sorted me out.

A time-poor geek is hardly a geek at all
