From 1 November, will the Networking part disappear so that it won't be possible to pull from a PC or other TIVO?

I assume this feature (and hopefully pushing to a TIVO) will return in the new software?

If you buy a used TIVO, what will happen with regards to the deactivating/activating that used to be necessary? Will the new PROM remove the need for that?

Once you have your TIVO modded with a new PROM chip and the new software, it won't matter what state it's in then or even now. Activating or deactivating will not be required as a guided setup will work fine with the new mothership either way, even if it's been deactivated. If you already have the HNP (as I have) there will still be some functionality, although transfers between Tivos will maybe stop (we don't know for sure yet), but maybe re-enabled as a feature in future. We have pretty much every eventually sorted, including new images on 1TB and 2TB drives etc.

Tivo upgrades to operate with the new OzTivo EPG, support and service. Over 400 performed here so far. See: www.hillcrest.net.nz
