Hi Tivo lovers NZ - I have just got my Tivo up and running again after having it Modified and all is well so far.

But: I could not find quite a few of the programmes I like to watch in the Find Programmes List.

Is this a teething problem or ?

It may help if you can give some examples of the programs you're searching for, and the exact method you're using to search for them.

Bear in mind that searches will only produce results if the programs appear within the existing EPG data. You may need your guide updated by an automatic trip to the new mothership before the programs you're looking for will appear in search results.

Hi Spong, strangely enough the programmes I couldn't find yesterday like The Big Bang Theory and 2 Broke Girls were there when I looked today. So I don't understand that I'm afraid.

I used the normal Find Program menu and typed in 2 Broke Girls for ex and it was not in the list. Same with The Big Bang Theory. I realise that you sometimes have to leave the 'The' off and just use Big Bang Theory, The.

Before I even did that, I actually went through the whole list and programmed in Season Passes for the programmes I came across that I wanted. Then I went back and tried to find individual Titles.

I don't understand what you mean by 'an automatic trip to the mothership' - can I do this manually within the Tivo settings and messages menu?

I actually thought that now we are with the OZ/TIVO mothership that all the references to the old Tivo system would be gone.

I wouldn't like to set anything in motion that would damage my connection with Oz/Tivo. Or is that not possible?

These may seem like silly questions, but, I prefer to ask etc - rather than, do something unfortunate!!

All modified Tivos connect to the NEW OzTivo mothership automatically to get new EPG data, once a day, so you don't have to even think about it, just like they used to do the same with the old Hybrid mothership. When you first looked for those programs, they may not have even been in your EPG as your modified Tivo had been offline for a few days before you received it back.

You can always do a manual connect from the network menu, but normally there's no reason to. Any references to the "Tivo Service" etc are there because the Tivo software hasn't been majorly changed. However, the old mothership is gone, and all connections are to the new one.

It's likely the Tivo hadn't finished indexing the guide data that it downloaded as your initial call on the new OzTivo setup.

Even though you might see programs in the Guide data, the search and other guide database functions will not fully work until indexing is finished, this is a automatic step that occurs after loading guide data is complete, however it may take some time 1 - 2hrs.

Plus I find if your manually trying to force it to manually update - the first one which can take quite some time to complete grabs all the data but it doesn't seem to be immediately usable however if you do another manual connection it finishes quicker as there is no updates but it then shows all the guide data straight after.
