As someone who's never content with just the 'standard features' that a product has to offer, I've been playing with some of the HME apps that are around for Tivo. One that I've found particularly good, and worked right away was Audiofaucet which streams (yes streams, not transfers) audio from your itunes (or other music) library to your Tivo, and consequently any connected audio equipment. Playlists and cover art are supported which is nice. Make sure you change the Audio Output option (under settings in the Tivo app) to 'Stream to Tivo' or the music will come out of your PC speakers.

I saw on one of today's screenshots that there is now an Apps menu option, which sounds like it might mean that Tivo is moving to having an Apple-like app store. Could supersede the whole HME thing eventually

Be nicer if it did move to a app store then it would become more mainstream.

Having just moved Tivo has replaced the Media Centre (still in box), only issue I have is uploading movies to Tivo. Would prefer if you could prioritise rather than just selecting a folder to upload.

If Tivo could read raw DVD format (ripped using anydvd) then I would sell the mediacentre as Tivo is far more versatile and just works

Perhaps take a look at pyTivo for transfer to TiVo. Much faster and better format support than TiVo Desktop. I think it supports vob files too, but not yet tried it myself.

On the topic of DVD transfers - I'm thinking of giving this a shot - feel free to have a go, let me know how you get on if you beat me to it :)

Pytvio never worked for me but the DVDShrink works a dream.

Just need to check if it keeps the surround sound, also it says turn 1G chunks on but I recomend having that unchecked.

Now all I need to do is work out how to stream itunes movies to it and sell the media centre.
