Hi All,

Just considering the Total Home package that Telecom have currently for:
"Home phone with 10GB Broadband + Free TiVo (usually $499) for $85/month" [sic]

Is it possible to get the Telecom connection for broadband + phones installed in one location (location A) but get the TiVo move to a different physical location (location B)? Or does the TiVo require the same internet connection that Telecom has provided? Location B has Vodafone as broadband supplier.
Does anyone know if the Telecom package (above) comes with the home networking kit which allows connection of TiVo to a PC?

No restriction on TiVo location (Well... ya gotta have freeview HD coverage and a broadband internet connection tho). You have to buy any other software as it comes with nothing.I believe you can get some 3rd party software to link to a PC(Google it). We got 3 linked together(using the home networking package) around the house,we like em lots.

I also have a 3 tivo setup, and use the Tivo Desktop software, it works very well, AFAIK it is only needed if you want to transfer to/from your PC and not required to transfer between tivo's

No mention on that page. Although to get the free tivo, I think they have to phone you or door knock and offer it to you. I think I would prefer to pay $199 for the tivo, and not get stuck in a long term contract with telecom.

Yea your correct, the FREE TiVo is on a brochure that we have.

It's a 12 month contract when you sign so its not a major. Get the TiVo and after a year can switch, if required and still keep the TiVo

telecom have been giving tivo away for a while now, all you have to do is agree to stick with them for a year

I just called up and managed to get a free one, also bonus $100 account credit, no transfer/connection fee, and free calls to a nominated landline. Cheers Telecom!

No, i got the modem too. Quote CONNECT10 and you get $100 credit OR $10 credit per month for 12 months.

why wouldnt you get the ??$10 credit per month for 12 months?

I had an expensive month of unexpected bills so not paying a months phone bill helped me more than 10 bucks!

I just moved from Orcon and got free modem and free Tivo and my connection is about 10% faster which I think is down to the new modem as my old one was about 7 years old.
