I need your advice on video editing software.  I've been using Windows Movie Makera nd tried Pinnacle Studio 12 which was great.  I tried buying Studio 16 (the latest version) and contacted the 6 NZ stores listed on the US Pinnacle www site.  None had it in stock - a few had Ver 12. A couple had to check with the distributer but I've not heard back after 24hrs.

I also tried emailing Pinnacle sales agents in Asia/Pacific but the emails bounced. Is Pinnacle still trading?????

Where does this product sit in the market?  is it commonly used and is there an alternative you can recommend.  I have a budget of about $NZ200.

Thanks - Maleko

I can't remember the last time I bought a physical disk. Can't you buy it online?

Some years ago when I was really into video editing Pinnacle software was to be avoided. Don't know what it's like now. You could do some 30 day trial downloads of say Corel Video studio, Sony Vegas and Cyberlink before you go out and buy something..

Pinnacle is a decent video editor, i use it quite often for little jobs i have to do.

You can purchase it online through the above link and download it. It is stocked in NZ so im not sure why its so difficult to find on the shelf. I believe i saw it in Noel leemings a few months back, have you tried there?

I switched from Pinnacle to AVS due to constant crashes with Pinnacle. Have been presently surprised with AVS.

This is similar to what was asked in the other thread so I'll post my reply here too:

If you're looking for something high end but also suitable for a beginner and very cheap I would recommend Lightworks:
http://www.lwks.com/

It came up as something good when I was researching a NLE editor prior to starting my course, although I think now I won't spend the time learning it as it isn't used in my course so I'm better off for now focusing on what they're instructing in (instead I'll be learning Adobe Premiere Pro, however that is more pricey so maybe only get it if you can obtain the student discount too).
