i have contacted two websites that come up first page on google when searching for this topic and both are fronts for indian based companies. From what I can see on their testimonials they just regurgitate templates freely available and dont do any custom design work at all. I need a facebook page to mimic my website so a template wont do the job.

Does anyone know any reasonably priced companies or individuals based in NZ that can help.

I am a small business operator in the hospitality business and not a corporate so really looking at small guys not the $150 per hour large agencies.

$150 would be a cheap agency. Freelance you could be paying $70-$100 approx per hour.

What do you mean by a business facebook design? I don't think you cant really customise them that much therse days with the newer format. You have basically got the logo and big cover image behind that. The cover image you can design to look like you site, but the rest will look like facebook.

I have done a few facebook business page setup for companies, but it is pretty basic work, and I haven't looked into other stuff you can possibly do on them too much.

im relatively new to facebook marketing but from what i have been seeing on the net there are templates you can get made for you - they include items like menu, specials, gallery, etc etc

THe above link has a few to choose from - Im looking for someone to create one using my logo, colours etc and installing it - plus once i have started using it for a couple of weeks there are bound to be some tweaks so looking for ongoing support/advice.

Please let me know if I am barking up the wrong tree however :)

It would be unwise to make a decision based on a per-hour comparison.

Last time I had my car repaired the hourly rate at the shop I chose was twice other options - yet the job was completed at less cost and to a higher standard. I have confidence in the result, and got some good advice as well.

yes of course it would -

main reason for mentioning this is that based on getting my website designed the price range was huge - up to $15k from large agencies and down to $500 from overseas freelancers - I ended up with a work from home type but experienced auckland company and paid $5k. Im happy and ongoing support is great.

I want a similar win/win situation

Anyone out there ?

Those examples appear to be e-commerce web host frontends. (joomla/wordpress) Not facebook.

One of the better customised facebook front ends are coca-cola range https://www.facebook.com/CocaColaNZ?ref=ts&fref=ts

But as you'll see, the main customisations you can do is buttons/apps using facebook developer tools or embedding your webpage into them

There are some facebook app examples on it too.

I think they are essentially apps/code that you embed in. I am not sure if many people do that sort of work in NZ. Why doesn't the OP contact the web designers they previously used, as even if they don't do the work themselves, they should know who does. A web designer may also buy the premade templates from template monster, and customise them to their own design, which could be an affordable option. I think companies like Wildfire have their own apps that do the same sort of thing, but I think it is a monthly fee.

I think it's difficult to take you seriously when you've only made three posts to Geekzone. Sadly, the activities of some people in certain central African countries do tend to taint legitimate businesses.

Your user names Otoni54 and email come up mostly on help requests for Panasonic PABX systems, but also a few questions on accepting Western Union and Paypal transfers. There's also an internet dating profile, but that's probably irrelevant to the discussion.

I guess my point is you may very well be a legitimate businessman, but there's really no way for us to know for certain, and it would be fairly difficult and somewhat naive of us to trust you with the available information, particularly as you live in another country where we have no recourse if anything were to go wrong.

With the updates to Facebook, the first page that people are going to land on is your timeline cover page. You can advertise other pages that you set up as add-ons to your Facebook business/fan page, but you are no longer able to choose your homepage.

Yes, thanks Kevin for getting that guy off my back - its been annoying trying to find legitimate design businesses who aren't fronts for east european or sub-continental individuals. I had 2 ring me yesterday with very english names like Andrew Weatherspoon and Randy Williamson but with thick hard to understand accents. Plus the lengths they go to disguise this with nz domain names and fake physical addresses is amazing.

Anyway back to facebook - it seems that a lot of the customisation examples i am seeing on the web are not in fact real examples - if you search for the actual facebook page they are just standard facebook pages. I think what i am seeing is pre-updated facebook examples when there was more flexibility.

I will do some further research i think

For some reason,i find it interesting for some heads in the west to still believe in this era that the west is always superior.

I have done business with companies in the USA and UK.These are giant companies and not your NOT COMPARABLE type/size of company.

By the way,why would people from the west leave the so called well to do companies in those developed countries and trade with a company in Africa,The reason is simple,sometimes they just cant find what they need in the so called developed countries.

Thanks to the internet that i can now take up contracts/jobs of the west while am seated in Africa.

NOBODY HAS MONOPOLY OVER KNOWLEDGE.

otoni54, nothing about jealousy but this is a kiwi forum and it just strikes us as kinda odd when people with no links to nz post here... not that you're unwelcome! Just don't be surprised if it strikes people here as a curious oddity.

pbee50, Facebook is constantly changing what is allowable or not so often what was possible even recently isn't now. So keep that in mind when you're doing researching, check out the published date.
