Hi guys, having a bit of trouble so some advice would be appreciated.
I recently bought a new home and need to install new wiring for my internet.
I have run a cat 5 from the street wire into the house to the main jack point.
I am only going to be using the point for internet so no need for phone.
If someone could tell me which wire goes to which slot on the jack that would help immensely.

pair one (blue/white blue) is normal phone pr when a Cat rated data cable is used for voice services only - this is connected with a 'krone' tool on to terminals 2 and 5 on the back of any BT phone jkpt (with out seeing the fron of your jack I cant see if it is an older M or E or a newer 2 version (this is normaly embosed on the front))

2 and 5 are the middle ones on either side - but you must use the correct tool or you will damage them (not a knife, a small screw driver or a AT&T 110 Tool ) but you can use the cheap plastic version you can by from the warehouse/supermarket etc if you cant get the proper tool

OK then - if it has a 2 on the front (and with the help of the photo) I can now say that the jkpt is a first generation 2 wire version and that it doesn't mater which of the 3 idc (insulation displacement connector) sockets on the left hand side and the which of the 3 on the right hand side you use ( as each of the 3 sets are connected together on the circuit board ) as long as one leg/wire of your cable is connected on the right hand side and the other leg/wire is connected on the left - still 'krone', or equivalent light use plastic, tool only
