My back still pains, last night wasn't the first time, and it won't be the last time if I don't do something.

So i decide I need to install some sort of anti-slippery strip to the carpet stairs. I see the "aluminum strip" between my carpet and ceramic tile as per photo could be a choice?

Is there any better dedicate solutions? Thanks.

I believe carpet should be banned on stairs, it is dangerous.

You slipped off the stairs?

Not sure exactly where the issue is and how to help.
If carpet - wear socks?

It's the carpet covered stairs. socks or slippers with foam bottom, doesn't help much. It doesn't happen everyday, but once a month is dangerous enough. :-(

its dangerous if you go to fast, dont pay attention, wear socks and do both the the afore mentioned things together, but if you cant manage to negotiate stairs then how do you manage every day life outside the house?

everything in life is dangerous to some extent, you have to mitigate those dangers or else you wouldnt be able to do anything.

i suggest going slower or changing your footware or both.

Sorry I don't have specific suggestions. I have seen several different systems over time.

Negotiating stairs with a disability

and then you fall into a different category so maybe carpet should be banned for those with a disability that render walking up stairs difficult but not for those without who are 99.99+% of the time able to getotiate them safely?

so a sweeping ban is not really the answer is it.

If you're searching for this type of thing it's called 'stair nosing' and there are all sorts of options from domestic to commercial.
