Hi experts,

I am in need for some advise as to installing the UHF antenna to receive FreeViewHD so I can watch TV again. I was using the Satellite plugging into a decoder to watch Freeview, therefore missing a few channels as expected. Then a couple of weeks back, the decoder failed me and instead of buying a new decoder, I am planning to put in a proper Antenna so I can plug it into the TV directly.

My questions is that could I actually buy an outdoor UHF multiband antenna and hook the cables in the Satellite on to receive FreeviewHD? Currently the Satellite is using a Coax cable and I got an adaptor to covert it to F Connector. Just hoping to do it myself to save half the cost.

Do you mean removing the current cable from the dish on your roof, and connecting it to a UHF antenna?

If so, yes, that would work.

Are you in an area that can receive Freeview over UHF?

Thanks for the reply man. Yes I am in the in the freeview coverage.

So you reckon it will work? I will go buy an antenna and have it swap over then.

Most antennas you buy now have just an F-Connector for connecting the cable to it, so you should just be able to unscrew the cable from the Dish LNB and screw it into the Antenna. You will need an adaptor for the TV end though (F-Plug to Belling-Lee Plug).

That's great, I do have the adaptor for the F-Connector to connect to the TV.
