We are a year into renovating a 100 villa and have come to the point where we need window treatments. With past houses we have used Guthrie Bowron but having exhausted the money tree the 2 year no payment interest free option currently being offered by Harrisons is very tempting but we wonder if there is a sting in the tail. Does anyone have any experience of using Harrisons Curtains and Blinds and can comment on service, quality and durability of the end product.

We found this website very helpful when deciding on what type of heating to put into the villa (ducted bedroom side and floor mounted living side because we also have a woodburner): so thank you to those people who took the time to post on that topic.

Haven't used them for curtains and blinds but have for carpets and the local franchisee was great.

That is one issue with them that the service can be variable depending on the franchisee and how good they are. As I know of a friend who want that impressed with his franchisee

What types of blinds are you wanting, as I suspect some companies are better at certain types than others. If you are looking at roller blinds for instance, I believe there are also some good online options.

We are based in Marlborough

Regrettably it is the villa that just keeps on giving. The windows are the old fashioned wooden type with the large glass panes at the bottom and two smaller (quartered panes) at the top. Due to the framing we cannot hang blinds (roller or venetian) top to bottom. The villa is level(ish) but even if we could fit shutters they would not fall straight so we are left with no choice but to get bespoke roman blinds and curtains. We are considering honeycomb blinds (on the sunny side of the villa) for the larger panes coupled with a roman blind or curtains and sheers depending on window type and location. We are trying to filter light whilst still allowing light in.

We've used Russells a few times with great success. We had one issue and when we emailed on a Saturday we got a response back from them almost immediately. My Sister in law used Harrisons for carpet and there was a reason their quote was cheap, it covered the barest amount of carpet and they didn't tell her they broke the picture, just denied it when challenged.
